Audacity

The Zennox USB turntable come with an Audacity CD . Audacity is free, open source software for recording and editing sounds. It is available for Mac OS X, Microsoft Windows, GNU/Linux, and other operating systems. The freeware can be downloaded directly from http://audacity.sourceforge.net

As well as recording Audio input from the player Audacity can be used to make your own music with multi track layering !!

Open My Music folder

It's a good idea to start by producing some folders to place the recordings prior CD burning , these can be placed in your My Music folder , Click start and My Music

Click Make a New folder

Name the folder

Open the Audacity Programme

Open the Audacity Programme , click the Project Button and then New project from the drop down menu , and then with the turntable connected to the computer , start the record playing and click record which is the brown circular button .

Modify the recorded track

You can Modify the recorded track , the most likely reason with 78s is to remove clicks and surface noise , highlight the recorded area where the clicks occur with the mouse , click the effects button and Click removal from the drop down menu

Click the effects button and Click removal from the drop down menu

Click the remove clicks button

Click File , and the Export as WAV

Click File , and the Export as WAV button from the drop down menu .

Save the WAV file in your My Music File

Save the WAV file in your My Music File ( Click open ) , Click the folder you want to save it in , Click open , click save

Click the folder you want to save it in , Click open , click save

Click the folder you want to save it in , Click open , click save

Click YES to save as WAV

The WAV file is now saved !!

The WAV file is now saved !! Record as many tracks as you want to place on your CD in the same file

Click the button Copy to Audio CD

Click the button Copy to Audio CD , the Copy tool appears click copy to CD-RW drive , click copy

Click Write these files to CD

Follow the CD Wizard instructions to transfer the tracks to your CD

NOTE :: The CD wizard only seems to let you copy once and not subsequent additions to the CD so all tracks need to be in the Appropriate My Music folder before making a CD
